When Eliseu Saraiva in the 14th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Julio Vera kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced Comanche EC's goalkeeper Johannes Isaksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Vidal in the 30th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Isaksson having to interfere. Dieguinho Aguiar hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johannes Isaksson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Witold Blochowiak in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Comanche EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Antonio Arias put in a rough tackle. In the 95th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. The Comanche EC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
