In the 3rd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arjen Rodenboog saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Ab Roelfs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buitenhout FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After a rather tough play, Buitenhout FC's Ab Roelfs got a free kick in the 5th minute. A collision led to Buitenhout FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Wesley Kiewit hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Arjen Rodenboog tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Buitenhout FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ab Roelfs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the game, one of Buitenhout FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arjen Rodenboog had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Tomas Illescas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Tomas Illescas did an outstanding performance 43 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-1 to the right of an irritated Arjen Rodenboog in the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Buitenhout FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Arjen Rodenboog reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 48 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of play forced Buitenhout FC's goalkeeper Arjen Rodenboog to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Buitenhout FC's Arjen Rodenboog got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Joshua Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arjen Rodenboog was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Patricio Costa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Patricio Costa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. In the 85th match minute, Buitenhout FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ab Roelfs to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaap Borgman in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Willem Oosterman made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Buitenhout FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Kuypers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela played a much better game than Buitenhout FC and deserved their victory. The Buitenhout FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
