The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcel Mallinger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Per Nienhaus came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
