Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franky Ooms to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Buffalo Timişoara's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hunor Csapó came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Brent-Jan Koninckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Călin Borogeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mexico had won after a very even match.
