Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. CERRO PORTEÑO were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alan Paredes took the corner. CERRO PORTEÑO's Alan Paredes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 11th minute Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Guillermo Mariano with Tomas Illescas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Paredes in the 27th minute of play. Cãlin Damaschin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 44 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. CERRO PORTEÑO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alan Paredes in the 62nd minute. The corner ended in Alan Paredes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. In the 64th minute of the match CERRO PORTEÑO got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alan Paredes ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Simon Gerbault fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CERRO PORTEÑO's protests and gave Simon Gerbault a yellow card for diving instead. Simon Gerbault kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Cãlin Damaschin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 0-5 in the 71 minute of play. In the 75th minute, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonathan Venegas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Venezuela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonathan Venegas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 75th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. In the 77th minute there was a penalty for CERRO PORTEÑO. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 0-6. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Edward Spets made in the 85th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Barto Crespo however managed to control. In the 86th minute, Abel Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 91st minute of play. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 94th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 95th minute. Abel Velasco's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, CERRO PORTEÑO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Velasco to maneuver through the defense. CERRO PORTEÑO's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
