Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 13 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 27 minutes of play, CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 39th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Panama's Tomas Berganza to fire away a dangerous shot which Cãlin Damaschin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matthew Garrido during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Matthew Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Miralles in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes CERRO PORTEÑO got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Maldini. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 67th minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis rounded Panama's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-6. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 84 minutes Panama's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alan Paredes who took care of the corner kick. In the 85th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Garrido to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by 任棋振 during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 89 played minutes CERRO PORTEÑO got a freekick which was hit by 任棋振. Cãlin Damaschin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidoro Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CERRO PORTEÑO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
