Luiz Paulo Ferraz's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dobrudja 1919 were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Peter Petro took the corner.

In the 57thth minute of the game Petrică Turcescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
