The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vukašin Hadžiđulbić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 3rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bennvar Galloway in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 11th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vukašin Hadžiđulbić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Pinki Pied came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bennvar Galloway got free with Julio Vera in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 19th minute of play forced Tre Starka's goalkeeper Vukašin Hadžiđulbić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Tre Starka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Lauren to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristian Sancho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pinki Pied received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pinki Pied in the 68th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pinki Pied in the 74th minute of play.
