Manchester United FC's Saul Väänänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Mesquita in the 3rd minute of play. Clube Atlético Mineiro's Natanael Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henri Valkealahti in the 4th minute of play. Jeferson Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Saul Väänänen made a huge save. Vihtori Viljanen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natanael Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Lenílson Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute of the match Jami Uhlbäck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natanael Nascimento skillfully saved the ball. In the 16th minute, Ernani Mesquita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atlético Mineiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jeferson Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Valio Sammalkangas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Ernani Mesquita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saul Väänänen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Saul Väänänen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernani Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeferson Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Saul Väänänen made a huge save. Saul Väänänen was a little too slow when Faustão Amaral got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernani Mesquita was the one to do the kick off. Saul Väänänen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernani Mesquita went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 60 minutes of play, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Ernani Mesquita made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Saul Väänänen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saul Väänänen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Proença in the 65th minute of play. Saul Väänänen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernani Mesquita went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. 72 minutes into the game, Ernani Mesquita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Saul Väänänen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Clube Atlético Mineiro's Ernani Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Clube Atlético Mineiro booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vihtori Viljanen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Ernani Mesquita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saul Väänänen was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Saul Väänänen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Vihtori Viljanen charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vihtori Viljanen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Allan Leppiniemi replaced Vihtori Viljanen. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Manchester United FC! In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Clube Atlético Mineiro. Vitório Mendes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Saul Väänänen. 10-0. Clube Atlético Mineiro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
