George Lindberg started the match with the kick off. Yngve Lundqvist lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. George Lindberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Gunnar Engström made a huge save. In the 9th minute, UÅ Mästerbotten's Arne Lagerberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. George Lindberg took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gunnar Engström. Gunnar Engström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as UÅ Mästerbotten's Marcus Söderman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gunnar Engström. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. 29 minutes into the game, Bengt-Arne Gerdberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ströms Diamonds's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UÅ Mästerbotten the free kick. A collision led to Ströms Diamonds getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Bengt-Arne Gerdberg hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Ströms Diamonds's goal looked a bit too open when Mikael Valrot came free, but Gunnar Engström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Ströms Diamonds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt-Arne Gerdberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd match minute, Ströms Diamonds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Åke Hellström to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jörgen Johnsson to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, UÅ Mästerbotten's Mikael Valrot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gunnar Engström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 61st minute George Lindberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Engström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bo Byström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gunnar Engström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albin Rönn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ströms Diamonds's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jens-Erik Lange was slow to take the kick. During this time UÅ Mästerbotten's players had a chance to rest. The corner led UÅ Mästerbotten's Jens-Erik Lange to fire away a dangerous shot which Gunnar Engström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Ströms Diamonds booed when UÅ Mästerbotten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Söderman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, UÅ Mästerbotten's Marcus Söderman fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal, but it hit the crossbar and went out into the crowd. In the 73rd minute, Sven-Åke Kihlman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When UÅ Mästerbotten's George Lindberg in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to UÅ Mästerbotten getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Karl Skytt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Söderman in the 96th minute of play forced Ströms Diamonds's goalkeeper Gunnar Engström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UÅ Mästerbotten's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
