Curicó-Unido's Julio Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Biörk in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stor Stakemann in the 39th minute of play forced Curicó-Unido's goalkeeper Julio Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carl Biörk fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eda FF's protests and gave Carl Biörk a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Curicó-Unido booed when Eda FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Biörk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Hipolito Angeloni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curicó-Unido's supporters rose to their feet, but Hipolito Angeloni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnus Skålberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 74th minute, Eduardo Vargas made a precise shot to the right of Magnus Skålberg. Eda FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stor Stakemann got free with Julio Tinoco in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Eda FF players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Curicó-Unido from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
