The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Román Hoefler sped through C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Betinho Moura. In the 7th minute, Sid Lampard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eduardo Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Lameirinhas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torbjørn Trondsen in the 13th minute. Curicó-Unido's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Román Hoefler in the 15th minute. After taking down the ball on Curicó-Unido's corner Román Hoefler fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Betinho Moura quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Curicó-Unido's Manuel Lameirinhas got control of the ball when Torbjørn Trondsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Vargas came free, but Betinho Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Lameirinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjørn Trondsen in the 19th minute of play. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Hipolito Angeloni sped through C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Betinho Moura. In the 30th minute, Eduardo Vargas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Betinho Moura was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Vargas in the 33rd minute of play forced C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goalkeeper Betinho Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Curicó-Unido's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hipolito Angeloni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Manuel Lameirinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Curicó-Unido's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
