After a defensive mix-up in Curicó-Unido's zone, Wojtek Sokol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. If Wojtek Sokol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80thth minute of the game Tonton Eren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curicó-Unido's Manuel Lameirinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ajax fully deserved thier win.
