They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 77th minute of the match, Sadettin Tunçkol got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a FC SASA ILIC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. FC SASA ILIC's Celil Oyman was substituted for Hamdullah Türeli. After 93 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. If Sadettin Tunçkol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC SASA ILIC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
