Ali Nieminen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Taavetti Mattila read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Reijo Enola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Iorda in the 17th minute of the match. When Eldur Heido fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's protests and gave Eldur Heido a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Eldur Heido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play forced SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taavetti Mattila made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Milagros Fraga sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Taavetti Mattila. Milagros Fraga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Taavetti Mattila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 27th minute. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalie and right to Alonso Berganza. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 33rdth minute of the game Ali Nieminen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Nieminen in the 41st minute of play. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Taavetti Mattila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, one of SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans. Eliseo Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Isko Koskela was substituted for Kyösti Puumala. After 60 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Mina. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Taavetti Mattila didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. In the 67th minute, Reijo Enola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Taavetti Mattila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Taavetti Mattila was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. In the 91st minute Eldur Heido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Reijo Enola was slow to take the kick. During this time SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's players had a chance to rest. The corner led SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's Reijo Enola to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Taavetti Mattila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 94th minute of the match. Peru's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
