Huang Fei Ting could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 25th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Måns Sandberg. In the 31stth minute of the game Juan Lebron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Norrlands Athen fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Norrlands Athen's Juan Lebron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 33 minutes into the match, Peru's Eliseo Mina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Safet Hands narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Måns Sandberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Norrlands Athen's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Safet Hands came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th play minute Julian Murillo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Safet Hands. 1-2. Stig-Arne Deckberg made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Stig-Arne Deckberg got a free kick in the 69th minute. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Stig-Arne Deckberg hit a great ball. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 72nd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Safet Hands narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 76th minute Juan Lebron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The throw-in from Qian Zhen Sheng in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 91st minute Gilbert Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru played a much better game than Norrlands Athen and deserved their victory. The Norrlands Athen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
