In the 5th minute Paulo Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferenc Tököli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferenc Tököli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Godoi in the 6th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herbert Pankowski got free with Ferenc Tököli in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Joseph Schwarzfischer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Ferenc Tököli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Godoi in the 14th minute of play. Ferenc Tököli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Rapsodas Red Devils FC's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Barbosa came free, but Ferenc Tököli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Rapsodas Red Devils FC booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percival Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorrin Briones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Varela having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Eugênio Alagoano got a free kick in the 24th minute. The Palestra do Interior fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Barbosa in the 29th minute of play forced Rapsodas Red Devils FC's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Boyisana Mnisi in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Rapsodas Red Devils FC's Eskil Julin. Jorrin Briones might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allan Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorrin Briones ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Romário Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferenc Tököli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 played minutes Rapsodas Red Devils FC got a freekick which was hit by Eskil Julin. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

But to his dismay, Romário Barbosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Ferenc Tököli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ferenc Tököli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Godoi in the 65th minute of the match. Jerrold Taranco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Allan Varela when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerrold Taranco got free with Allan Varela in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Palestra do Interior had won after a very even match.
