Julio Chicote showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Mikolaj Anszczak made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Mario Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. Florian Szostak's late challenge caught a Bolivia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacek Waldoch was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 34 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Eduardo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Anszczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bolivia fully deserved thier win.
