Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhys Dimmock narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rhys Dimmock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Zamalek FC's goalkeeper Rhys Dimmock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rhys Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhys Dimmock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rhys Dimmock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute of the match, Fred Kirkpatrick got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play forced Zamalek FC's goalkeeper Rhys Dimmock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhys Dimmock having to interfere. In the 35th minute of the match, Reese Otto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 39 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tytus Banaszak in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Fred Kirkpatrick who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Kirkpatrick in the 74th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tytus Banaszak in the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Davis Duff had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davis Duff was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Kirkpatrick came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Stăniloaie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Fred Kirkpatrick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Fred Kirkpatrick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zamalek FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
