The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Alberto Tafalla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Herbert Hilhorst. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 11th minute of play forced Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. 21 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Christijan Schreuder came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 23rd minute of play forced Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play. Herbert Hilhorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Herbert Hilhorst in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 47 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Phoenix Soare. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 48th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 59 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herbert Hilhorst was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Hilhorst having to interfere. After 66 minutes of play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herbert Hilhorst was left in no man's land by his defense there! Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. In the 77th minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 81st minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Geels in the 83rd minute of play. Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Hilhorst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christijan Schreuder. Phoenix Soare kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
