After 41 played minutes, Sporting Westmeerbeek's Bart-Jan De Vaddere shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Westmeerbeek reached it. Matias Dimo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matias Dimo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

Matias Dimo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Dimo having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matias Dimo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Sporting Westmeerbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Matias Dimo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Matias Dimo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Sarangapani in the 79th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting Westmeerbeek's Çelebi Tublek got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Sarangapani in the 98th minute of the match. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting Westmeerbeek throughout the match.
