An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 12th minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Orvar Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orvar Larsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Orvar Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 25 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felix Montenegro. The supporters of Esquirla FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Esquirla FC got a freekick which was hit by Tim Van Brussel. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Orvar Larsson made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Arlo Arruta came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Orvar Larsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 70 minutes, Arlo Arruta made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Orvar Larsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kristen Lijsens's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristen Lijsens helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Esquirla FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Kristen Lijsens hit a great ball. In the 99th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Alfredo Bertran placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Esquirla FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
