An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton Vale in the 10th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Rodolfo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Rodolfo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Salgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 42 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernard Letourneau who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Bernard Letourneau got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilton Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Vale in the 58th minute of play. Kabiru Rotimi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Vale came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gisbert during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of TAQUARI FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. TAQUARI FC made a substitution. Giannis Karagiotis replaced Valer Covaliu. After 74 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton Vale in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilton Vale scored 2-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Vale in the 86th minute of play. If Erasmo Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. TAQUARI FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
