Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Ånger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigiusz Mlekodaj, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Remigiusz Mlekodaj made a kick off. The supporters of 3City United booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball.
