The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Quiroga in the 9th minute of play forced Colombo A.C.'s goalkeeper Ali Nejat Özertem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Quiroga in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ali Nejat Özertem saved Colombo A.C. from getting behind. 11 minutes into the game, Ricardinho Dantas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Apostol Sokolov. Ricardinho Dantas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ricardinho Dantas hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Claudio Quiroga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15th minute Claudio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Nejat Özertem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apostol Sokolov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Dantas in the 17th minute of play. Colombo A.C.'s Şehzade Faydalı managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gines Hubieta in the 22 minute of the game. Julian Tomporowski's late challenge caught a Monitor Huáscar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julian Tomporowski helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Colombo A.C. got a freekick which was hit by Julian Tomporowski. Artemio Varas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ali Nejat Özertem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Dantas in the 27th minute of play forced Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes Monitor Huáscar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lauro Neiva who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Alan de Queiroz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of Monitor Huáscar booed when Colombo A.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Quiroga in the 44th minute of play forced Colombo A.C.'s goalkeeper Ali Nejat Özertem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardinho Dantas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Colombo A.C. got a freekick which was hit by Manoel Alagoano. In the 54th match minute, Monitor Huáscar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gines Hubieta to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Ricardinho Dantas made a precise shot to the right of Apostol Sokolov. Monitor Huáscar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Monitor Huáscar's Bernardinho Bala was substituted for Artemio Varas. 65 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apostol Sokolov. Monitor Huáscar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardinho Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Dantas in the 71st minute of play forced Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monitor Huáscar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulo Fallabes in the 74th minute. Claudio Quiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ali Nejat Özertem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game was made by Manoel Alagoano with Maksymilian Polkoski as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Claudio Quiroga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Colombo A.C.'s Ali Nejat Özertem got control of the ball when Claudio Quiroga tried to sneak it across the goal line.
