After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, José Paulo de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcinho Mineiro in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After having played for 10 minutes, Santiago Cidro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florestal Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Cidro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Florestal Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Santiago Cidro hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Renan was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcinho Mineiro got free with Julio Vera in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Marcinho Mineiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sherif Cannavaro made a great header on Florestal Futebol Clube's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Renan having to make a save. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Marcinho Mineiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcinho Mineiro's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Renan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play. Bruno Renan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Marcinho Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Marcinho Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcinho Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70thth minute of the game Marcinho Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Florestal Futebol Clube's Bruno Renan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Florestal Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. When Florestal Futebol Clube's Marcinho Mineiro in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 91st minute of play forced Florestal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Bruno Renan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Renan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 92nd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo de Lara in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo de Lara came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Florestal Futebol Clube were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
