Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, New England Minas's Edgardo Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 10thth minute of the game Edgardo Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremy Nicholas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 13th minute. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Jeremy Nicholas threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Cazalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the New England Minas defense, Luis Cazalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. The New England Minas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremy Nicholas should have stopped the shot. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 29th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Antonio Indiano hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Edgardo Silva put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Manzanares. If Edgardo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th minute Edgardo Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute of the match New England Minas got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Glen Conklin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Colombia's goalie and right to Alperen Öksüz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Colombia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Silva in the 46th minute of play. After the first half New England Minas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Abram Sarmiento made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After taking down the ball on Colombia's corner Joshua Garrido fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jeremy Nicholas quite easily take care of the ball. After 61 minutes of play, New England Minas's Edgardo Silva made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Edgardo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Silva in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgardo Silva in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Edgardo Silva sped through Colombia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. New England Minas's Arturo Sito was substituted for Edgardo Silva. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. A sloppy throw-in by Ye Gang Cheng in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. In the 88th minute Arturo Sito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Indiano's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Indiano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abram Secada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jeremy Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Colombia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching New England Minas's performance. The match ended with a win for New England Minas.
