Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Armando Meireles kicked off to start the match. 2 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Petruț Dicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Soveral struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Exército Português. In the 5th minute, Exército Português's Armando Meireles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Exército Português's Petruț Dicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play. Petruț Dicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Exército Português's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Exército Português's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Dicu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Gustavo Carrasqueira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Gustavo Carrasqueira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Petruț Dicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 32 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Petruț Dicu was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Exército Português getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Toro Lindø hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Dicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Exército Português's Abel Carvalhais got a free kick in the 37th minute. Ademar Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Meireles in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Bruno Soveral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Gustavo Carrasqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Exército Português's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Carrasqueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gustavo Carrasqueira struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. A hard shot 73 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Petruț Dicu managed to make a qualified save. Exército Português's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Petruț Dicu. That made the score 2-2 after 84 minutes of play. Exército Português made a substitution. Nicolas Gois replaced Toro Lindø. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Petruț Dicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Nicolas Gois sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Meireles in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
