But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Gaur couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Nereo Gaur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nereo Gaur's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 54 minutes into the match, Nereo Gaur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Gaur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 61 minutes of play, Tetra Pack FC's Nereo Gaur made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Nereo Gaur sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Nereo Gaur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tetra Pack FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nereo Gaur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tetra Pack FC made a substitution. Santo Lluterio replaced Cristobal Inocente. When Nereo Gaur came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Tetra Pack FC fans jumped to their feet. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
