İnanç Asutay's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. İnanç Asutay helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Okan Akdoğan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st match minute, ESKİŞEHİRSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sami Işık to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Okan Akdoğan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alican Sungurbay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdulvahit Tunç got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's Alican Sungurbay got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Okan Akdoğan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Honduras booed when ESKİŞEHİRSPOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sami Işık didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ESKİŞEHİRSPOR. In the 71st minute, Raik Özdener hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Okan Akdoğan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 73rd minute of play. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Okan Akdoğan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Okan Akdoğan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. After 92 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's Okan Akdoğan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 95th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
