In the 10th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Incera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Abel Gonza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Novos Troncos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Santo Incera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Incera having to interfere. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play forced Novos Troncos's goalkeeper Santo Incera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliberto Berart got free with Julio Vera in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 45 played minutes Novos Troncos got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Cesaro. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. The supporters of Novos Troncos booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Abel Gonza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Pascual Cesaro's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascual Cesaro helped the player get up and apologised. Ecuadors' Santo Incera made a terrific save as he just managed to stop Daniel Zoritas penalty just before it crossed the line at his left post. In the 90th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santo Incera was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Novos Troncos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
