Santo Incera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Gaona went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Leonardo Leoz got a free kick in the 18th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Berart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th match minute, Novos Troncos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Gonza to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Novos Troncos's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Santo Incera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Novos Troncos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorio Vela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nunez Musko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Novos Troncos's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Incera came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Ezequiel Frisco charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ezequiel Frisco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mexico's Xavier Seco was substituted for Alberto Tafalla. Ezequiel Frisco kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 59th minute of the match, Luca Zorita tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Santo Incera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Berart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 67th minute of play forced Novos Troncos's goalkeeper Santo Incera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santo Incera. That made the score 0-4 in the 74 minute of play. Santo Incera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 81st minute. Lautaro Mancebo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 90th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nunez Musko, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, Novos Troncos's Honorio Vela got a free kick in the 95th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Novos Troncos's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Incera came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
