Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jerônimo Mangueira started the match with the kick off. Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 2nd minute of play. Sílvio Luís Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. In the 11th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Giovanni Pena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 18 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Zé Roberto Velasco hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Jerônimo Mangueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Giovanni Pena in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Dedé de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Júbilo Iwata's protests and gave Dedé de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. Giovanni Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play forced Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Giovanni Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Cristian Sancho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Giovanni Pena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 40 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerônimo Mangueira got free with Julio Vera in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Júbilo Iwata players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerônimo Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Giovanni Pena was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Giovanni Pena quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Giovanni Pena in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Júbilo Iwata's Mazinho Correia was substituted for Dedé de Castro. In the 63rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Júbilo Iwata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Giovanni Pena despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Giovanni Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute. Giovanni Pena made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 75th minute. Giovanni Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 78th minute. Sílvio Luís Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Giovanni Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Júbilo Iwata getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jerônimo Mangueira hit a great ball. When Cristian Sancho fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Cristian Sancho a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
