Saidi Costa came out of the goal and Finlay Stair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th match minute, Jamaica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romon Oliver to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Bessa kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Jarell Hill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 24 minutes, Romon Oliver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jamaica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romon Oliver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Saidi Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karlus Waugh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Demonde Jacobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Paião in the 39th minute of the match. Romon Oliver kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Finlay Stair could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Saidi Costa made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastião Paião to make the kick off. The supporters of Jamaica booed when GD Serra da Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Paião didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to GD Serra da Vila getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aquiles Abel hit a great ball. Sebastião Paião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Demonde Jacobson made a huge save. In the 60th minute, Finlay Stair got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Jamaall Padmore. In the 64th minute, David Torcato left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GD Serra da Vila fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 66th minute, Romon Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Avelino Colaço managed to get in a good position for a shot. GD Serra da Vila's supporters rose to their feet, but Avelino Colaço was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Demonde Jacobson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Paião in the 72nd minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Finlay Stair. After 78 played minutes, Jamaica's Geroy Ascue shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Saidi Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jamaica reached it. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Paião in the 80th minute of play. Saidi Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarell Hill in the 88th minute of play.
