After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Rudolfo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Rudolfo saved S.C. Tigres Paulista from getting behind. In the 22nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Rudolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Rudolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute of the match Jonatan Iigo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Rudolfo having to interfere. Guilherme Vinhas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Isaltino Novaes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Patricio Costa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 69th minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Pedro Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, Mathias Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C. Tigres Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 79th match minute, S.C. Tigres Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Dantas to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, S.C. Tigres Paulista's Wilson Queiroz got a free kick in the 80th minute. Pedro Rudolfo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Alan Wilder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. During the 95th minute of the match Mathias Dantas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mathias Dantas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 96 played minutes S.C. Tigres Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Dantas. S.C. Tigres Paulista's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
