A.C Rimini's Sten Liib proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save A.C Rimini from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ebardo Herencia in the 33rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Pedroso in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Pedroso in the 40th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Panama booed when A.C Rimini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Jiron didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, A.C Rimini's goalkeeper Sten Liib had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil.

In the 95th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Liib saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
