After 18 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Mancebo. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Greger Fribäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greger Fribäck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Greger Fribäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Greger Fribäck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Mexico's Luca Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greger Fribäck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 42nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greger Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Real Salsa F.C.'s Greger Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 67th minute of play. With a little luck, Real Salsa F.C.'s Greger Fribäck got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Real Salsa F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Txeru didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Real Salsa F.C.'s zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greger Fribäck came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sancar Yağınalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
