The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Daniel Zorita scored 0-6 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Urtsin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 43 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Urtsin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfredo Urtsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo Urtsin. Disappointed in the 0-9 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alfredo Urtsin. The goal made the score 0-13.
