The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Félix got free with Julio Vera in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute, Kröll BK's Victor Félix ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Kröll BK's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Sebastián Trejos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Kröll BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Félix in the 21st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Victor Félix kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kröll BK's Benet Añe got a free kick in the 24th minute. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Félix in the 26th minute. Julio Vera was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Victor Félix capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Victor Félix really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Sebastián Trejos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 33rd minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Jan Vennerlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Kröll BK's Jan Vennerlund. But to his dismay, Jan Vennerlund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Vennerlund in the 96th minute of play.
