Esporte Clube Pilar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 44 played minutes Esporte Clube Pilar got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Silva.

The wind increased when Yan Zonta made the kick off in the second half. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esporte Clube Pilar. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 89th minute. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Bautista Quintero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Roch Orszak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Esporte Clube Pilar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Zonta in the 96th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 96th minute. Esporte Clube Pilar were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
