Lei Zhen De took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 10th minute of play forced Mosjö Sportklubb's goalkeeper Lei Zhen De to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lei Zhen De read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Bergman in the 15th minute. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ludomil Topolski sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lei Zhen De was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalton Bennett in the 35th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lei Zhen De prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Peru's Alonso Berganza was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lei Zhen De in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. Lei Zhen De was a little too slow when Luz Tejedor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-2. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludomil Topolski in the 65th minute of play. Lei Zhen De was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Milagros Fraga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Milagros Fraga really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. 79 minutes into the match, Mosjö Sportklubb's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Lei Zhen De reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
