In the 30th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egon Lepisk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wojciech Nocny's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wojciech Nocny got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dennis Law struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pαɳαɱα Jυɳισɾʂ FC.
