Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Cetnar in the 14th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Andrzej Cetnar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Andrzej Cetnar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Gilbert Jaks sent off a good shot on target. Boruc Kojder charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boruc Kojder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Boruc Kojder hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. If Krzysztof Ronaldinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Andrzej Cetnar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Ali Emir Akatay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 40 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eugenio Nesto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrzej Cetnar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Żaby Żnin's Eugenio Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 46th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Krzysztof Ronaldinho to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Ronaldinho in the 52nd minute of the match. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play.
