Modesto Farto came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Correa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Though ot was a great shot Venezuela's keeper Jonathan Ferrant was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Severo Labora got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Made in Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iztal Autran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Made in Paraguay getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jacob Sagasti hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Made in Paraguay's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Farto came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nahia Gago came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65thth minute of the game Nahia Gago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 86th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Modesto Farto in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The nice shot from Tomas Illescas in the 95thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Modesto Farto had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Made in Paraguay succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Venezuela had controlled the match.
