Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Edoardo Rinaldi kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Berardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valdieri the free kick. In the 17th minute of the match Dennis Berardo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Valdieri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edoardo Rinaldi went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 25thth minute of the game Edoardo Rinaldi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 26 played minutes Valdieri got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Berardo. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lautaro Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Valdieri booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Edoardo Rinaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edoardo Rinaldi in the 41st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Aloisi in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Dennis Berardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Edoardo Rinaldi came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 57th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dennis Berardo. Eliseo Noboa was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Lautaro Puig got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 76th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. When Valdieri's Alfonso Aloisi in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Edoardo Rinaldi sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Berardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edoardo Rinaldi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 96 minute of play. Valdieri played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
