Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Susara in the 3rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Curt Montes took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Susara came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Curt Montes in the 20th minute of the match. After 24 minutes MarquinhosEC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zézinho Simões quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zézinho Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro do Valle in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Susara in the 37th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by MarquinhosEC's Alessandro do Valle. But to his dismay, Alessandro do Valle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Zézinho Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Florin Susara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro do Valle was the one to do the kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 52 minutes into the game, Barrie Deacon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MarquinhosEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to MarquinhosEC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Barrie Deacon hit a great ball. Zézinho Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute of play. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro do Valle in the 60th minute of play. MarquinhosEC's Inácio Freitas was substituted for Alessandro do Valle. MarquinhosEC's Rubinho Valle was substituted for Esteve Quinto. When Florin Susara came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the MarquinhosEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florin Susara couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81stth minute of the game Inácio Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 83rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Zézinho Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Susara came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inácio Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Chants of MarquinhosEC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
