Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Fabrício Lustosa sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Mao Zhen Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabrício Lustosa. After 26 minutes of play, Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mao Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. Fabrício Lustosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute Fabrício Lustosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute of the game Juan Sebastián Puig made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Fabrício Lustosa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fryderyk Grucza to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fryderyk Grucza in the 53rd minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fryderyk Grucza in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Fryderyk Grucza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Monte Gordo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fryderyk Grucza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fryderyk Grucza, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Monte Gordo's Fryderyk Grucza. But to his dismay, Fryderyk Grucza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Academia Monte Gordo's Kartal Kartalov was substituted for Pascual Mouricio. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Mao Zhen Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fryderyk Grucza, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Academia Monte Gordo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adolfo Silva in the 84th minute. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Academia Monte Gordo were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
