The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Villarias got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Januário Monteiro came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Januário Monteiro in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Villarias. Marcos Villarias scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Januário Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Villarias in the 28th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tạ 张飞乐 during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Marcos Villarias got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 2-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. If Gustavo Del Prete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 52 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Villarias came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Atletico Nacional FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Januário Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional FC's Tạ 张飞乐 got a free kick in the 68th minute. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Luís Virga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Virga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Virga in the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Bernad Albino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Bernad Albino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Atletico Nacional FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Luís Virga hit a great ball. With a little luck, Atletico Nacional FC's Felipe Varela got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Virga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felipe Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.
