Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Oton, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Lluterio having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Oton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced TOYOTA Panasonic RacingF1's goalkeeper Julian Lluterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Lluterio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Truylos got free with Julio Vera in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than TOYOTA Panasonic RacingF1 throughout the match.
