Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Sebastian Titz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mexico booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Rothe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Ogășanu scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Guy Rothe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Angelo Milanese tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sebastian Titz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 28th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Sydney FC's Angelo Milanese. But to his dismay, Angelo Milanese quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Önder Cebi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 37th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Önder Cebi, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute of the match, Guy Rothe tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Titz having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Ogășanu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Abeita to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 54th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu in 61 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Dante Lacasa guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. Ferdinand Mendy, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sebastian Titz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 68th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Önder Cebi in the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Sebastian Titz in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Milanese in the 76th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Guy Rothe got a free kick in the 77th minute. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Lautaro Mancebo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 81 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Ogășanu came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Sebastian Titz made a huge save. The Sydney FC fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Sydney FC's Angelo Milanese looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 96 minutes in the game, Joel Gaona fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sebastian Titz having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sydney FC had won after a very even match.
